Principal
Dear Brighter Choice Community School Families,
I am excited to introduce myself as the Principal of Brighter Choice Community School! Allow me to share a bit about myself and my journey.
I have over 23 years’ experience in the NYC DOE, in District 75, supporting students, families, teachers, and staff.
In that time, I have gained extensive knowledge and experience in pedagogy and school leadership along with a passion for education and creating exceptional learning environments for children.
I am no stranger when it comes to District 16, as I have worked here in Bedford Stuyvesant Community for 15 years as an Assistant Principal, at a collocated school with two other District 16 schools.
Throughout my career, I have worked in various educational roles in teaching, school supervision, and graduate education .
All of these experiences have broadened my horizons and provided me with valuable insights into the diverse needs of students, parents, and educators. However, when I am not working, I am almost always with my family, as family is what I value most. I also enjoy playing bass guitar, listening to music, watching movies, collecting vinyl records and immersing myself in health and fitness.
I firmly believe that communication and collaboration are essential elements to student success.
With that said, it is imperative we all share ideas, and merge our experiences, so that we can become an educational powerhouse that inspires and engages students to be successful in all that they do.
It is my belief that students always come first, and they should always remain at the forefront of all that we do.
I am committed to fostering a culture of motivation and success where all school community members, including students, families, and all staff, are encouraged and motivated to be the best that they can be and achieve ultimate success. I am also committed to ensuring our students are provided with both positive academic and social experiences to help them grow in their educational journey. It starts right here, right now, at Brighter Choice.
I am a caring, understanding, and compassionate school leader and human being, and I believe that creating a happy, warm, and inclusive school community is essential for student success and growth.
I am a firm believer that school needs to be a place where students and staff feel valued, safe, and respected and that it is a place where they want to be every day. I work closely and collaborate with all members of the school community to ensure that this happens.
As a strong instructional leader, I am dedicated in providing the highest quality education for our students. With that said, I will work closely with teachers to ensure they are valued and supported in their practice to deliver high quality instruction.
There is a lot of work ahead of us, but together, we will create a collaborative and supportive environment where all students are successful.
